New Zealand

Today meeting conclusion was I have to go to New Zealand the soonest the possible. According on my colleague over there, things are very critical, need to fix it as soon as possible. My boss quickly books the air ticket for me, booked for 3 weeks, from 2nd March until 23rd of March, quite a long trip. But from my passed records, China was the longest trip I had, I mean for job purpose, it was about 1 month, and is just before Chinese New Year.

This trip will be very tough for me, everything come into sudden, and I only have 1 day to get ready. Luckily I have my wife to help me to pack the luggage, my mum to iron my shirts and pants, my brother help me change the money. Without them, I have to suffer for all these. In here I would like to say a big Thank You to you all for helping me.

I think I will have home sick this round, because I have commitment. A married guy with a daughter of age of 2, a mother at home and a lovely wife. I hope I can come back early, hope everything goes well, and really need someone to pray for me. God bless me.

Conference call meeting

Meeting, this morning I had a meeting with other colleagues around the world, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia and of course Malaysia. Something funny happen this morning, we are doing conference calls and we are the initial caller, so my side here have to call one by one, and connect them together. Usually there is a person make the call from here, but today she’s not around, so I and my other colleagues here have to make the call. Problem come, all of us here don’t know how to make conference call. We are guided to make the call from other colleague through MSN video call. At last, we wasted half an hour just for making calls.

The main objective of today meeting is to update everyone on the progress. From what I heard is we are behind schedule. The main reason why we are behind schedule is we did not get full cooperation from them. Who are they? Is not convenient for me to tell here.

To make a job success, cooperation and communication is very important. From the conversation, I feel that they sound helpful but in real they are not.

The meeting ended out with no outcome, tomorrow morning have another session of meeting with the same group of person. Feel like wasting time attending this morning meeting. Tomorrow morning meeting will be a decision for me whether when am I going to New Zealand office to work for 2-3 weeks.

Astro Installation follows up

I thought we can watch Astro on this afternoon, but unfortunately the installer insert the wrong sim card. Sigh, the feeling is like the food is in front of my mouth but other people just grab it, how disappointed I am. Whose fault is that? The installer? The assistant installer? Or me? I guess normally customer like me won’t do checking on sim card, so fault must be the installer. Assistant installer is the trainee, they learn from the installer by following them to do installation on every home.

The reason given by the installer is the fault of the assistant installer, he said the assistant installer exchange my sim card with other home without his notices, and he only manage to change back my sim at night around 9pm, sigh, have to wait again. This installer can not be trusted, he told me Sunday is family day for him and he won’t do any installation on that day, but now he is doing installation on other home. That’s why I said he can not be fully trusted. What to do? Just wait.

Whole family just sitting, sleeping or doing cleaning inside the house.

They reached my house at around 10pm, imagine we have waited for how long. Luckily today is only exchange back the sim card else I am going to complaint to the customer service. The whole process only took few minutes and at last we manage to watch Astro programs.

I think they must have a standard check list when doing installation, this is not only to increase the quality of work but also to save customer time like my case. Less problems, better quality. I hope Astro will do some customer satisfaction survey on installation and services.

Astro Installation

Astro, a very famous paid TV station that most of the houses have subscribed to it. I subscribed before Chinese New Year in front of hypermarket. Is free installation and free decoder, but have to subscribe for 2 years with the Astro package must above RM85 or RM89, I can’t remember which one. I was told that they will come to my house to install it after Chinese New Year, due to many technician take leave.

I received a call from the technician beginning of the week and make an appointment on weekend to do the installation, time will confirm on that day.

Today I received the call and confirm the time installation will be around 3pm. When the technician is here, after looking at the environment of my house, he told me that he needs to buy a 5 feet steel to support the receiver dish. So additional charges will be applied to buy these equipments. Total estimated money to spend will be RM340 (RM50 wiring, RM120 Transmitter and RM150 5 feet steel). Because of this, the installation work has to postpone to tonight.

Wait, wait, wait, waited until 11pm then only they come. They come with full equipments. First thing they do is drill the whole on the wall to put the 5 feet steel. Because is quite late, so must do the drilling first. Next thing they do is wiring. I requested them to pull the wire from ceiling, so that it looks neat. The transmitter is installed inside my room, so that I can change the Astro channel inside the room.

Do you know that the whole installation ended up at 1:30am? 2.5 hours job. The installation part is done, but the activation part not yet done. They will do the activation on tomorrow afternoon, and then only I can watch the program. Too tired, I mean me too tired waiting for them to do installation, too sleepy. Actually I have asked them to come on Sunday day time, but they said Sunday is his family day, if want, then next Tuesday only can do the installation. Can’t wait until that day.

That is my Astro installation experience.

CJ7

CJ7, Stephen Chow movie of the year 2008, official launched date on 7th February 2008. This morning I reached the cinema at 8:45am. Have to go there as early as possible, because during Chinese New Year is very crowded in cinema, I can tell you that not only Chinese crowded in the cinema but Malay also. Don’t be surprise that Malay is buying ticket to watch CJ7. Malay watching Chinese movie. So you can imagine that how famous is Stephen Chow in Malaysia.

I was the first to reach the cinema. No other people were there beside me and the staff there. I was told that the ticketing counter will be open at around 10-1030am. What I do there is have breakfast over there.

Time passed and I saw many people start gathering in front of the ticketing counter. I quickly go to the counter there to queue up. Unfortunately I was the 2nd person of the queue. Things do not go smooth because their system having some problem, from what I noticed is they can’t logon to the system. They make an announcement that it was server problem, they need to restart the server and apologies to us. At last, I managed to buy 13 tickets, 11 adults and 2 children’s. All are family members.

I went home after got the ticket, because the show time is 12 pm sharp. I was told that my sister and other family members will have breakfast at Kim Gary and we have to meet them there. Ok, is 11:45am, we all proceed to the cinema lobby. Now we can see the queue is many times double longer of this morning, queue until the food and beverage counter.

Our cinema hall is 12, we all straight to the hall and the lights are off, but the movie do not start yet, still showing movie preview. I am worry Carmen will cry and wanted to go out of the movie, so what I did was giving her a box of pop corn, let her eating there. I hope this method will works and we can watch the full movie. Last round we have to come out on half way of the movie because she cried. After 30 minutes of show time, she still can sit peaceful, look likes my method did work. I noticed she also watching the movie, she cries when the dog was chasing by the children.

Not bad the movie. Suitable for children to watch. A simple and funny movie, the small girl acting is not bad, very cute and
funny. She was a boy in the movie. Happy ending, very suitable to watch during Chinese New Year.

I hope you will like the movie as well. Enjoy the movie.

Dengue/Denggi

Today is 2nd day of Chinese New Year, we got a bad news from my brother in law. He sent sms to say that his wife who is my 4th sister has admitted to hospital just now. I have not been seeing her since I have moved up. Last time we use to meet up on every Saturday, but after moved up I had my own dinner.

From what we know now is she got fever and her stomach got air. We decided to visit her after dinner.

On the afternoon, we have our own Chinese New Year visiting plan. I and my family went to visit my parent in law. Carmen is very busy on carrying all the soft toys and walk around the house. One of the soft toys is as big as her size. We went home after few hours to do bathing and straight go to the restaurant for dinner. Very difficult to find a Chinese restaurant do business during Chinese New Year. If you manage to find it does not mean that they do your business, because most of the tables are booked. And the restaurant dinning hour is set to 6pm and 8pm, which mean you either come at 6pm or 8pm for your dinner.

After dinner, we proceeded to hospital. Three cars from here, so imaging how many peoples will crowd inside the room? When we reached the hospital, we saw my 2nd brother, his wife and my niece just reach the parking bay. Plus another 3 person, let me count, 14 adult and 3 children.

When we reached the room, we are asked to be seated in the waiting room because the nurse wanted to do something on my sister. We waited for 10 minutes. Half of us went into the room, the remaining half wait inside the waiting room.

I saw my sister lying down on the bed, her cheek is very red and her stomach is slightly big, got air. For me, she looked fine, she can talk as usual, and only thing is walk. We all suspect dengue, but still have to wait for the doctor report then only can confirm. After a few minutes, the other half of people in the waiting room all come into this room. My eldest brother in law first thing he do is starting praying by holding one of her hand. The praying speech is about 1-2 minutes. Almost everyone is asking the same question, how do you feel today? What did the doctor say? Are you getting better today? Questions are repeated, but it show that everyone is very care of her.

We gather in the room for half and hour and feel that the room is a bit warm. I the first one to go first because Carmen just did a ‘Big Business’, got to go home to wash it. We all wish that you will get well soon, as what my brother in law said, ‘God will bless you and your family members as well’. Take care.
