Today received email from HR, someone from CR team has been identified and tested yesterday evening to having a strain of influenza that is a mild form of H1N1. Below is the email.
Dear all,
Kindly take note that one of our colleagues, Harsh, has been identified and tested yesterday evening to having a strain of influenza that is a mild form of H1N1. The doctor has confirmed that the strain he has is not airborne, but may spread via fluids etc. He is being quarantined at home starting today.
The company has put the following precautionary measures in place:
• Arrangement for special disinfection cleaning for all Nielsen main office floors
• Continue to arrange for cleaners to use disinfectants’ during daily cleaning
• Continue to provide hand sanitizers at all office common areas, i.e. reception area, pantry and all meeting rooms
• Purchase of masks will be made. Once stocks are in, we will notify and you can collect from Admin.
All employees are requested to please note the following:
• Anyone who develops flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, sore-throat, runny nose) should seek immediate medical attention and notify your Manager of your medical condition. Should there be any confirmed cases, please notify your Manager and HR immediately.
• Anyone who had been in close proximity with Harsh, please monitor your health closely for any symptoms. Should there be any, please seek immediate medical attention and get yourself tested for A(H1N1). Kindly notify your Manager and HR of your medical condition.
• Continue to practice good personal hygiene at all times.
• Those who have low immunity or in high-risk groups are advised to exercise greater preventive care. If self quarantine is required, please have a quick discussion with your Manager for work from home arrangement to minimize business disruption.
He is from 18th floor, and my colleague from 15th floor just called me telling me 15th floor are distributing mask, asked me want or not. Malaysia is like out of control on this virus. Everyday open paper and there are always new cases found and the death number are increasing every day.
My friend told me, his wife friend relative suspect infected H1N1 and went to Hospital in Sungai Buloh, quarantine there. After few days, he was “released” but few days later he passed away. So is the virus too powerful or during his stay in hospital is to quarantine from public and no medicine to cure it?
