Michael Owen hit a great a hat-trick as United topped their Champions’ League group in style and kicked out Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg in their own backyard.
The striker headed the visitors ahead from a Nani cross before Edin Dzeko nodded Wolves level.
Owen scored a second at the far post and then at the death scored with a dinked ball over the keeper.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted they got a bit lucky not to have conceded a penalty in the first half, but was delighted with the way his players adapted to playing out of position and the hat trick for Michael Owen.
My colleague asked me what the result between Wolfsburg and MU is. I told him MU won 3 -1. He laughed and said ‘No defense also can win?’ I replied ‘But MU have world class striker’.
